Port Welding was started by owner Steve Barber in 1985 working out of his garage in Voorheesville, NY., and off his truck. Realizing quickly that the demand for welding alone was decreasing with the growth of MIG welding, Port Welding was relocated to the Port of Albany, were it remains today.
The need for fabrication and repair work was and is great, and this led to investing in the equipment necessary to fabricate and build whatever a customer may need. Over the years Port Welding has provided solutions to keep customers, and facilities, running with minimal down time while searching for ways to keep costs low. Whether it be repair work, installing equipment, or fabrication from scratch, we are always looking for the best solution to achieve the customer’s goals. Pulling from years of experience and the willingness to work with customers often results in saving time and money.
Port Welding is a full service fabrication and welding shop that specializes in millwright work and fabrication, while also providing on site welding, equipment repair, heavy equipment work and part fabrication. We shear, bend, roll, punch, cnc cut, and weld steel, aluminum, and stainless.
